Iran imported 30.005 million tons of goods, worth $38.415 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2016).
The figure indicates a 3.47 percent increase in terms of value compared to the same period of preceding year, the Iranian Customs Administration reported Feb. 25.
Iran's non-oil trade balance over the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20-Feb. 20) remained positive for 11th straight month and stood at $77 million.
Corn fodder worth $1.3 billion topped the list of Iran's imported goods during the 11-month period.
After corn fodder, motor vehicles with internal combustion engine worth $1.277 billion, soybean worth $848 million and car parts worth $730 million were among other main imported goods of the Islamic Republic in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.
China was the main exporter of goods to Iran in the mentioned period. Iran imported $9.373 billion worth of goods from China in the 11-month period.
After China, the UAE ($5.797 billion), South Korea ($3.027 billion), Turkey ($2.389 billion) and Germany ($2.17 billion) were other four biggest exporters of goods to Iran.
Iran’s imports from Germany witnessed an increase by 36.3 percent during the 11-month period, meanwhile China’s exports increased by 0.9 percent.
The Islamic Republic’s imports from the UAE, South Korea and Turkey also witnessed fall by 15.02 percent, 9.57 percent and 10.99 percent respectively.
