Turkey decreased Iranian gas intake by 7.42 percent to 789.58 million cubic meters (mcm) in January 2017, the latest statistics of Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory (EMRA) indicate.
According to EMRA, Iran shared 13.35 percent of Turkey’s total gas imports in January, which stood at 5.914 bcm, or 9.67 percent more than in January 2016.
Iran exported 7.703 bcm of gas to Turkey in 2016, or 23 mcm less than 2015.
EMRA’s statistics indicate that the Turkey’s LNG imports increased by 47% in January to 1.7 bcm, while imports through pipeline (From Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan) decreased 0.56% to 4.209 bcm.
