Iran’s exports of industrial products fall

During the first half of current fiscal year (started March 20), Iran’s exports of industrial products registered a fall by 9 percent in terms of value and amounted to $7.48 billion.

Iran exported 19.136 million tons of industrial products, indicating a fall by 10 percent, compared to the same months of preceding year.

During the six-month period, Iran’s petrochemical exports increased by 1.3 percent to $7.017 billion, according to the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.

Meanwhile the volume of petrochemical exports registered a fall by 5.4 percent to 14.087 million tons in the same span of time.

Iran exported 8.975 million tons of gas condensate, worth $3.521 billion, which, compared to the same period last year, indicates a 5.2 percent decrease in volume and value.

Iran also exported 13.998 million tons of minerals valued at $943 million during the first six months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Sept. 22).

The country’s minerals exports increased by 47 percent and 3 percent in terms of value and volume, year-on-year, respectively.

The Islamic Republic also exported $153 million worth of hand-made carpets (14 percent more year-on-year) and $15 million worth of handicrafts (a 7 percent increase year-on-year), in the six-month period.

In the period, Iran’s total non-oil exports, which include gas condensate as well, stood at $20.544 billion, which indicates a 3.2 percent fall.
