Iran unveils report on oil, gas drilling performance

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) drilled over 157.6 kilometers of oil and gas wells using its drilling fleet during the first seven months of Iran’s current fiscal year (March 20-Oct. 22), Hamid Reza Khoshayand, deputy managing director of NIDC, said.

The company carried out drilling of 90 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells during the period, Khoshayand said, NIDC reported.

The wells included 37 delineation wells two exploratory and 51 repairing ones, he added.

The NIDC drilled over 15,000 meters of oil and gas wells in the seventh Iranian calendar month (Sept. 22-Oct. 22).

The National Iranian South Oil Fields Company (NISOC) shared 68 of the drilled wells, followed by Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (14 wells), Iranian Offshore Oil Company (six wells) and Exploration Directorate of National Iranian Oil Company (two wells), he said.

The NIDC owns 74 light, heavy and ultra-heavy drilling rigs, the official added.

The company carried out drilling of 193 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells (293 kilometers) during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).
