Industrial products ranked first among the Iranian imports in terms of value during the first seven months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20-Oct. 22).
A report by Iran’s ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade indicate that the Islamic Republic has imported $23.09 billion worth of industrial products in the 7-month period.
The figure indicates a rise by 14.3 percent year-on-year.
Agricultural products rank second among Iranian imports, after industry sector products and accounted for $2.974 billion, registering a 8.9 percent increase compared to the first seven months of the preceding year.
The country’s agricultural imports accounted to $400 million in the seventh Iranian calendar month (Sept. 22-Oct. 22), 13.5 percent less compared to the preceding month.
The country’s industrial products’ imports in the 1-month period stood at $3.4 billion, 0.2 percent more on a monthly basis.
Iran also imported $735.7 million worth of petrochemicals (22 percent increase), $115.7 million worth of mineral products (44.2 percent more year on year) and $3.4 million worth of handicrafts and carpets (368.8 percent more) in the 7-month period.
In terms of volume, Iran’s agricultural imports stood at 7.308 million tons in the 7-month period, 4.6 percent more year-on-year.
Industrial products ranked first among Iran’s imports in terms of volume as well.
Iran imported 10.66 million tons of industrial products in the period, 4.8 percent more year-on-year.
