Iranian officials are studying a proposed plan under which the country’s small-sized airlines will set up an Airline group in the framework of a corporation, a high-ranking official told Trend.

Hamid Kalantari, the deputy minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare of Iran, has told Trend that these airlines will benefit from the tax exemptions once the plan is realized.

This would also reduce the expenses of the airlines and help them to grab a larger share from the market, he added.

Saying that his ministry is finalizing the study work, Kalantari added that the plan will be proposed to airlines in order to get them agreed to form the corporation.

Some 20 airlines were active in the country over the last fiscal year (starting March 20), according to Civil Aviation Organization of Iran.
