Iran’s plastic products rank first in Iran’s export baskets to Iraq in terms of value, Iran’s commercial attache to Iraq, Nasser Behzad, said.
After plastic products, agricultural and food products, livestock and construction materials such as stones, gypsum and asbestos are the most profitable goods among Iran’s exports to Iraq, Behzad said, the press office of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran reported.
Meanwhile products such as auto parts, optics, shoes, hats, wood paste and edible oils stand at the bottom of the list in terms of value, he added.
The official further said that in terms of volume, mineral products stand at top of Iran’s exports to the neighboring country.
Behzad said that Iran has the capacity to export machinery and electrical equipment and the chemical industry to Iraq and must consider these sectors as an opportunity.
Iran exported $6.425 billion worth of goods to Iraq in the last fiscal year, ended March 20, 2018.
The volume of the exported goods amounted to 13 million tons in the same span of time.
