Cargo load/unloading at Iranian ports falls

The volume of loaded/unloaded cargo in Iranian ports during the first four of the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2018) registered a fall by 6.8 percent, year-on-year.

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization said that about 46.85 million tons of various type of cargo have been loaded/unloaded in the country's ports during the 4-month period (March 20-July 22).

Oil products rank first among the cargo types, followed by dry cargo. Some 14.14 million tons of oil products were loaded/unloaded in Iranian ports, which is 14.5 percent less compared to the same period of the preceding year.

The report, published by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization, covers transportation activities in Iranian ports of Abadan, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Boushehr, Jask, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaei, Fereydunkenar, Qeshm, Ganaveh, Lengeh, Neka and Nowshahr.

Over 153 million tons of various type of cargo were loaded/unloaded in the country's ports during the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2018), registered an increase by 5.5 percent.

Over 46.7 million tons of oil products were loaded/unloaded in Iranian ports in the same span of tie, which is 1.3 percent more compared to the preceding year.
