Over the past six months of Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), cases of smuggling in Iran have risen dramatically, Spokesman for Iran’s Organization for the Protection of Consumers and Producers (OPCP) Gholam Reza Kaveh said.
This also increases the likelihood of financial crimes nationwide, he noted.
He added that cases of smuggling over the six months increased by more than 2,470 percent compared to the same period last year.
Last year, more than 330,000 cases of smuggling were investigated, he said.
