Five local companies in Iran have applied to Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum to get licenses to invest in Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone, Managing Director of the Special Economic Zone Hassan Shahrokhi said.
The sanctions haven’t significantly affected the development of the mentioned SEZ, Mehr news agency quoted Shahrokhi as saying.
New investors will be attracted to the SEZ in order to support the country’s development, he said.
Shahrokhi went on to add that to date, one license has been issued and the second one will be given next month.
“Before the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, foreign investors were showing great interest in the Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone. In the current situation, they are waiting for determination of the future of political and economic relations. This has encouraged local investors to make investments in the SEZ,” he said.
Shahrokhi noted that Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum attaches special importance to this SEZ.
