Iran's crude steel production up by 20%

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation (IMIDRO) announced on Saturday according to the statistics released by the World Steel Association, Iran's crude steel production increased by 20% during the first nine months of 2018, IRNA reports.

From January to September 2018, Iran has produced 18,520,000 tons of crude steel; in the same period last year, the figure was 15,431,000 tons.

According to the statistics, Iran's crude steel production was 2 million tons in September 2018; a 4.3% (1,918,000 tonnes) year-on-year growth.

During the first nine months of 2018, the 64 steel producing countries produced 1,346,987,000 tons of crude steel, a 7.4% (1,253,739,000 tonnes) year-on-year growth.

Steel is among countries' development indexes, accounting for 43% of the total $2 trillion of global trade in the field of mining industries.
