Over the first seven months of this year (starting March 21, 2018), 193,360 tons of goods worth $137,721,000 were exported through the customs of Iran's Fars Province, Director General for Fars Province Customs Office Khodadad Rahimi said in an interview with IRNA.
He said that compared to the same period of last year, 58 percent-growth in terms of weight and 68 percent-growth in terms of value were observed over seven months of this year. The growth was caused by the quality of products.
Rahimi added that dairy products, tomatoes, sweeteners, carbamide, persimmons, cement, ceramics, wheat flour and carpets are mainly exported from Fars province to Iraq, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Germany, India, Turkey, Pakistan and Indonesia.
He said that last year, more than 200,000 tons of goods worth $248 million were exported from Fars province. Most of these products were exported to Germany, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, India, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
Rahimi said that over the first seven months of this year, 11,608 tons of goods worth $58,195,240 were exported through the customs of Fars province.
These products are mainly imported from China, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Turkey, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Pakistan, Switzerland and Italy.
Compared to the same period of last year, the imported products dropped by 11 percent in terms of weight and increased by 20 percent in terms of value.
He said that over the first seven months of this year, 190,235 people arrived in Iran by plane, 145,391 of them are Iranian citizens and 44,844 are foreign tourists.
Meanwhile, 216,353 people left the country by plane during the reporting period, 145,499 of them were citizens of Iran, 70,904 were citizens of foreign countries.
