Iran’s Astara issues national standardization certificates for 10,000 tons of products

Some 584 national standardization certificates for 1,104 tons of exported products and 10 certificates for 8,860 tons of imported products have been issued in Iran’s Astara city from September 22 till October 22 this year (starting from March 21, 2018), Shahrokh Jafari, director of the Astara City Standardization Department of Iran, said in an interview with IRNA.

The Astara City Standardization Department controls the standardization of imported and exported products covered by the compulsory standardization, exports or imports products in accordance with national standards.

Export products with standardization certificates increased by 43 percent in terms of weight and 130 percent in terms of value compared to the same period of last year, Jafari added.

Last month, 10 national standardization certificates were issued for 8,860 tons of steel sheets, animal feed, fittings, medium density fibreboard and other imported goods worth 35.965 billion rials (about $856,309), he said.

Compared to the same period of last year, imported products with the standardization certificates decreased by 5 percent in terms of weight and 15 percent in terms of value, Jafari said.
