Iranian Razavi Khorasan Province’s railway revenues up

The revenues obtained as a result of goods imported by Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province via railway have increased by 32 percent, Director General of the Khorasan Railways Directorate Mohammad-Hadi Ziaei said in an interview with IRNA.

He added that revenues obtained as a result of goods exported by Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province via railway have increased by 232 percent, while revenues obtained as a result of transit goods - by 127 percent.

Ziaei said that during the first seven months of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), revenues worth 1.992 trillion rials (about $47,428,571) were obtained as a result of Khorasan rail transport operations. Ninety percent of this income is related to rail transport operations from Razavi Khorasan Province to foreign countries.

Taking into account the availability of existing potential, other income of the Khorasan Railways Directorate has increased by 13 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year, he added.

Ziaei said that local and international revenues of the Khorasan Railways Directorate are obtained from cargo transportation.

He said that in the first half of this Iranian year, 1,254,000 million tons accounted for exported, imported and transit products.

This is a 57-percent-increase compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Ziaei added.
