The value of the agricultural production in Iran's Kerman province exceeded 140 trillion rials (roughly $3.33 billion), Director of Kerman Agricultural Jihad Organization Abbas Saidi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
Over 300,000 people work in the agricultural sector of the province, Saidi said.
He further added that Kerman province ranks first in Iran in terms of pistachio, dates and walnut output.
Approximately, 25 percent of Iran's orchards are in Kerman, Saidi said.
Sprinkler irrigation system is used in over 70,000 hectares of fields and orchards of the province, he added.
Except the south, there are 200 hectares of greenhouses in different regions of the province, Saidi said.
Kerman, with its 183,000 square kilometers of territory, covers 11 percent of the Iranian soil.
