Fish breeding in Iran’s Sarab district to increase 20%

Fish breeding in Sarab district of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province will increase by 20 percent, said Iraj Saqafi, governor of the Sarab district of the Eastern Azerbaijan province, Trend reports via IRNA.

He noted that fish breeding is expected to reach 1,200 tons this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).

He added that Sarab district has ranked first in the province in terms of fish breeding for ten years.

“A great number of fish have been sent to fish breeding facilities in the second month of this year,” he said.

He said that 120 tons of fish are grown in 105 fish breeding ponds every year.

Mainly trout is grown in the Sarab district.
