Iran's non-oil exports via its Khuzestan province exceed $5B

In the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Iran's non-oil exports via the borders of Khuzestan province amounted to $5.31 billion in monetary terms, an official with Khuzestan Customs Administration Gholamreza Baluti Mirza told reporters, Trend reports via IRNA.

In his words, Iran's non-oil exports via Khuzestan increased by 79 percent in monetary terms compared to the same period of last Iranian year.

During the reported period, the amount of non-oil goods exported via Khuzestan amounted to 7.58 million tons, which is 500,000 tons less compared to the same period of last Iranian year.

In turn, Iran's imports via borders of its Khuzestan province amounted to 7.8 million tons in terms of weight and $3.4 billion in monetary terms, the customs official said.

He noted that the imports increased by 6 percent in terms of weight, but did not change in monetary terms, compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.
