Environmental pollution by the Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refining Company in Iran’s Markazi province has been minimized, Governor of Markazi Province Ali Aghazadeh said at a meeting dedicated to reduction of the environmental pollution in the province, a source in the company told Trend.
He said that the refinery has taken major steps towards preventing environmental pollution.
Aghazadeh added that every year, companies such as Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refining Company and Shazand Petrochemical Company use 25 million cubic meters of water.
Water consumption should be reduced by one-third during the next three years to prevent harm to groundwater sources, he said.
