The daily gas production volume is expected to reach 28.3 million cubic meters (1 billion cubic feet) at SPD9 platform of Iran's South Pars gas field on Oct. 16, Alireza Ibadi, Director of the Operations Department of Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company, said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

Some 22.6 million cubic meters (800 million cubic feet) of gas have been extracted from eight wells daily since October 14, the director added.

Ibadi added that the refinery needs at least 8.4 million cubic meters (300 million cubic feet) of gas to transport gas onshore.

The director said that the production on the platform was interrupted as a result of fire on June 12.

Iran's South Pars Gas Field (Qatar's North Dome) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar.

The gas reserves of the field reach 51 trillion cubic meters of gas and 36 trillion cubic meters of gas of that volume may be extracted from the field.
