Over $300M allocated to develop industry in Iran's Gilan province

Twelve trillion rials (roughly $285 million) have been allocated in Iran for the development of industry in the country's Gilan province, Chairman of Gilan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Farhad Dalghpoush said, Trend reports via IRNA.

According to Dalghpoush, there are 3,000 industrial enterprises in Gilan province.

The chairman added that there 85,000 people are working at these facilities, and 50,000 new jobs will be created over the next two years.

There are enterprises operating in the pharmaceutical, textile, cellulose and other sectors in Gilan province, Dalghpoush said.

The chairman noted the export of clothing products from Gilan province to Turkey has increased; however, he did not disclose the volume of the exports.
