Iran's aluminum ingot production increases

Iran's aluminum ingots production increased by 47 percent in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20 - May 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

“In total, more than 60,600 tons of aluminum ingots were produced by Iranian Aluminium Company, Al Mahdi Aluminium Company, Hormozal Aluminium Company and Iran Alumina Company, report said.

According to the report, the production of these companies was 41,300 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

Iranian Aluminum Company produced 31,900 tons, and the Hormozal Aluminum Company produced 13,500 tons of aluminum ingots.

“Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company produced 11,800 tons, and Iran Alumina Company produced 3,200 tons of aluminum ingots,” said the report.

According to the report, the production of aluminum ingots by companies in Iran amounted to 30,600 tons in the second month (April 20 through May 20, 2020).

In two months, Iran Alumina Company produced 41,600 tons of aluminum oxide, 70,600 tons of aluminum hydrate, 14,800 tons of lime and 110,900 tons of bauxite. The production of aluminum oxide increased 6 percent and aluminum hydrate 7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

However the production of lime decreased 17 percent and bauxite by 5 percent, compared to the same period last year. Thus, 39,300 tons of aluminum oxide, 66,100 tons of aluminum hydrate, 17,800 tons of lime and 116,400 tons of bauxite were produced last Iranian year.
