Iranian government allocated over $202 million for the development of Ilam province in the current year`s budget bill (started on March 21), a Member of the Iranian parliament announced.
"The government and parliament are focused to improve economic indicators such as elimination of inflation, employment, investment, and productivity in the current Iranian year,” Iranian MP Ali Akbar Bastami said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He said that in the current Iranian year`s budget bill (started on March 21), special attention has been paid to the issue of the development of less privileged provinces.
He went on to say that the parliament tried to allocate significant credits for Ilam province. “In fact, deprived areas and oil-rich provinces like Ilam have to benefit more from regional credits and oil revenues.”
"Ilam's large oil and gas projects should be managed by local people,” he noted.
He stated that the connection of Ilam province to the railway network has become a long-standing dream of the people of the province.
