Iran has announced new rules for cryptocurrency mining in the country, said the director general of investment office in Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Alireza Haadi, Trend reports via ILNA.
The new rules include individuals and miner companies that should register for permit to mine, in the online system known as Behinyab.
"Previously miners could work in industrial cities but recently they can also work in businesses and production companies by obtaining permit," said Haadi.
"The Ministry of Energy, law enforcement forces and other monitoring organizations would confront illegal mining, they would obtain the name of individuals with permit from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and confront others," he said.
"The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade would review the applicant's information and issue permits. The process of applying for a permit has intensified after the increase of Bitcoin price," he said.
