Internet connection network capacity increased by 12 times in West Azerbaijan Province, said the Director General of ITC in West Azerbaijan Ghasem Jalilinejad, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The internet connection network and bandwidth in West Azerbaijan has increased 12 times compared to 2013 and the digital gap between cities and villages has been removed and job opportunities were created," said Jalilinejad.
"The Sixth Development Plan (2016-2021) expected that 80 percent of villages and rural areas in West Azerbaijan Province would be connected to high speed internet, while currently 76 percent of the target plan has been achieved," he said.
"So far 1,799 schools in villages of West Azerbaijan Province were connected to the national information network," he said.
"Providing funds for connecting schools to national information network, that are situated in rural areas and villages, is the priority," he said.
