TEHRAN, Iran, June. 14
Trend:
The Iranian government decided to abolish visas with Iraq for up to 45 days and conditionally, MFA spocksperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said.
The spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry said that the abolition for Iraqi nationals is conditioned on reciprocal action by the Iraqi government, Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a press conference Trend reports citing the official Instagram account of the MFA.
He went on to say that the Iraqi side is also interested in a visa agreement, but this issue needs the approval of the Iraqi parliament.
“We are ready to sign an agreement on the abolition of visas reciprocally,” he said. “This visa waiver will not be limited to Arbaʽeen Pilgrimage or the Arbaʽeen Walk ceremony.”
