Iran's Gore-Jask Pipeline to be put into operation soon

TEHRAN, Iran, July 19

Trend:

The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company said the oil injection to the Gore-Jask Pipeline was done and oil is in the final stages of reaching Jask.

It has been almost 2 months now that the pump house No. 2 and the other operating units are in a stable position to transfer oil to the Jask terminal, Masoud Karbasian said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The Jask terminal, with the measures taken, is ready to receive the injected oil and then load the first shipment to export crude oil, he said.

Karbasian appreciated the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company and the Pars Oil and Gas Company, which have implemented this plan in the shortest possible time in both land and sea and in difficult conditions of sanctions and the outbreak of Coronavirus.

He also thanked the Iranian companies participating in the project, which includes more than 250 domestic companies.

The Deputy Minister of Oil and the CEO of NIOC said the equipment required for this project was made by the domestic sector. More than 91 percent of the needed equipment are completely made in Iran, including the pumps, oil pipelines, 42-inch valves, and power lines.

Iran’s new 1000-kilometer-long Goreh-Jask oil pipeline in the southern Hormozgan province, which will provide the country with an alternative route for crude oil exports that are currently transferred through the Strait of Hormuz, has registered over 60 percent of physical progress and is underway with full force.

The pipeline starts at Goureh oil terminal and runs to the Jask port terminal in Iran. NIOC stated in April 2020 that the pace of the project had not been slowed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
