The CEO of Iran's thermal power company known as Tavanir called lack of sufficient gas and liquid fuel for power plants and the issue of mazot consumption and related pollutants has become a special concern of the power generation sector for winter, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.

Currently, the winter fuel supply for the country's thermal power plants is the main concern of the electricity industry, Mohsen Tarztalab said.

Referring to the lack of gas and liquid fuel for the power plants, he noted that there is a concern that Iran will not be able to fully supply the country with electricity in the coming winter.

Tarztalab went on to say that during summer due to the restrictions, Tavanir has been forced to cut off electricity to industries, homes, and commercial subscribers.

“If the electricity blackouts happen in again winter, it will be detrimental for the country's industries.”

He went on to add that Iran is trying to overcome this problem by managing the issue of fuel supply to power plants.

According to the forecasts, during the rainfall season production of hydropower plants will not be in stable condition.

Tarztalab announced 10,000 MW of power plants are under construction and the construction of another 10,000 MW of power plants is on the agenda.
