Iran's Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament calls on boosting trade with Brazil, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

The Chaiman of Agricultural Committee of Iranian Parliament Mohammad Javad Askari attended a meeting at Iran-Brazil Chamber of Commerce office with the presence of the Brazilian Ambassador to Iran Ludmar González Aguilarento.

Pointing to need to use all the country's export capacity, Iranian MP said that Brazil looks to export urea, dates, raisins, and other organic agricultural products of Iran, including pistachios and rosemary.

“Iran must use all the country's export capacity and reduce its weaknesses, including in packaging sector,” said Askari.

He went on to announce that the Agricultural Committee of the Parliament seeks to facilitate export to Brazil.

“Boosting export of dates, figs, pistachios, pomegranates, saffron and similar products can pave the path to be independence from oil exports.”

“Iran provides 90 percent of the world's saffron, but the UAE benefits from it because it buys in bulk,” he said.

Iranian MP asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the export.
