Iran is increasing trade with neighbors and regional countries by development of border markets, said the head of Iran and China Joint Chamber of Commerce, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The government is pursuing to develop trade with its 15 neighbors via border markets as it would increase employment and locals would be able to supply goods and services through border transaction, Majid Reza Hariri noted.
The smuggling through borders is currently an issue and proper plan for foreign trade through border markets can develop Iran's foreign trade operations.
A total of 55 percent of country's export accounts for oil and petrochemical products while 18-23 percent accounts for mineral products, such as iron ore. About 30 percent of export is agricultural products.
Statistics indicate Iran's trade with 15 neighbor countries reached to 47 million tons valued $22.5 billion during the first half of current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021) that show 37 percent growth in volume and 52 percent growth in trade value.
