Iran unveils sum of trade sector bank loans

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 12. Iranian banks extended loans in the commercial sector worth about 3.92 quadrillion rials (about $93.2 billion) during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), the statistic of Iran's Central Bank says, Trend reports.

The statistics indicate that the commercial sector provided loans worth 3.4 quadrillion rials (about 81.1 billion dollars) as working capital in 11 months.

According to the information, during the 11 months, loans worth 232 trillion rials (about $5.53 billion) were granted in connection with the development of enterprises in the commercial sector and about 223 trillion rials (about $5.3 billion) in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities.

The statistics add that during the mentioned period, Iranian banks extended loans worth 25.1 trillion rials (about $599 million) for home purchases in the commercial sector and about 17.5 trillion rials (about $416 million) for personal products.

Statistics show that 7.6 trillion rials (about $182 million) worth of loans were given in the commercial sector for self-employment and 1.6 trillion rials (about $38.6 million) for renovation works.

To note, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 38.9 quadrillion rials (about $925 billion) in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year.
