Mineral reserves in Iran's Semnan province grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The mineral reserves in Semnan province, located in the north of Iran, increased by 13 million tons in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, the deputy chairman of Iran's Semnan Province Industries, Mines, and Trade Organization Ali Akbar Alikhani said, Trend reports.

According to Alikhani, 16 licenses for exploration operations were issued in the province during the mentioned period.

Alikhani added that 930 billion rials (about $22.1 million) have been invested in the mining sector of Semnan province in 11 months.

The deputy chairman added that about 250 people have been employed as a result of the investment. The investment was spent on exploration operations in the mining sector, mine development, and more.

To note, there are 42 types of mining products in Iran's Semnan province.

Additionally, it is reported that more than 25 million tons of mining material have been extracted from 720 mines in the province. The exhausted mineral reserves of this province are 600 million tons, and the estimated reserves are about 1 billion tons.
