Iranian Bandar Lengeh region's agricultural exports soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Exports of agricultural products from the Bandar Lengeh region of Hormuzgan province, located in southern Iran, increased by 40 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Head of Iran's Bandar Lenge Agricultural Department Malek Ashtar Bina said, Trend reports.

According to Bina, about 1.02 million tons of agricultural products were exported to Iran from the Bandar Lengeh region last year.

Bina added that the exported agricultural products are mainly fruits, vegetables, sweets, medicinal plants, and horticultural products.

The official noted that 37,300 tons of fish and fishery products were exported from the region last year. Exports of fish and fishery products increased by 30 percent compared to the previous year. Fish and fishery products were mainly exported to the UAE, China, Thailand, Russia, and Malaysia.

To note, Iran's Bandar Lengeh region is located in the west of Hormuzgan province. One of the main ports of the province is located in this district, which plays an important role in the import and export of Iranian agricultural products.
