BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. Iran's imports of products from Russia increased by 7.28 percent in value and 27.8 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.
According to statistics, Iran imported 3.18 million tons of Russian products valued at $1.6 billion last year.
Meanwhile, during the same period last year, Iran imported 3.35 million tons of Russian products for $1.69 billion.
As per figures, Iran mostly imported lumber and sawn timber, agricultural products, various equipment, and other items from Russia last year.
The information shows that Iran imported 171,000 tons worth $86.1 million worth of products from Russia for the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024).
However, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, imports of products to Iran in the last Iranian year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing the products required by the country and imposes certain restrictions on importing the products manufactured in the country.
