BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Wheat purchased from farmers in Iran under guarantee will be paid on the 1st day of next week (June 10), Trend reports via the country's Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the ministry, millions tons of wheat worth 520 trillion rials (about $1.4 billion) were purchased from farmers in Iran under guarantee from April 10 to date, year on year.
The ministry added that 23 trillion rials (about $62 million) have been paid to Iranian farmers for wheat purchased so far.
Meanwhile, Iran plans to harvest wheat from six million ha this year. Of this area, two million ha are normal, and four million ha are cultivated lands.
To note, in the current Iranian year (March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), one kg of wheat in Iran is purchased under the guarantee of the State Trading Company for 175,000–180,000 rials (about $4.17–$4.3).
