Iran has reached significant achievements in nuclear industry, and some of them will be announced on April 17, 2020, said special assistant to the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
"In terms of nuclear technology Iran is not behind other countries and has reached considerable achievements by attracting scientists," said Ali Asghar Zarean, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Despite shortages, cementing operation valued $10 billion was started at phases 2 and 3 of Busheher Nuclear Plant in cooperation of Russian contractor and the work will be commissioned by 2025. The reactors in this plan will have capacity to produce 7 billion kilowatt power per hour for a long term," the official added.
"Modernizing Khondab research reactor in Arak will continue; in next two days President Hassan Rouhani and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will inaugurate part of the reactor known as the secondary circuit," Zarean added.
"The reactor will improve fuel, radio isotopes production in medicine and industry, production of Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) radio pharmaceuticals, and will ensure less heavy water consumption," the special assistant indicated.
"The most important section of this reactor is VESEL that was designed domestically and will be completed by 2021," he noted.
"The uranium enrichment in Natanz has reached 36,000 SU in past two months, today it has reached to 8,660 SU and near 5,000 gram of uranium per day; our uranium production increased 10 times due to efforts of experts," Zarean said.
"In the technical field, Iran has worked with signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in a way that will not damage nuclear activities, while the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has continued exploration, production of heavy water in Khondab Arak alongside other activities," he added.
