TEHRAN, Iran, April 9
Trend:
In the field of research and development, especially enrichment, Iran can build any type and number of centrifuges, spokesman for Iran Atomic Energy Organization Behrouz Kamalvandi said, Trend reports citing IRIB.
"We have no restrictions under the framework for JCPOA in the technical field, and we can do any kind of research and development that we need,” Kamalvandi.
He added that Iran has reached a level where it can industrialize the production and construction of some advanced centrifuges.
"We're making 60 advanced centrifuges a day," he said. "With our current state of enrichment, production will certainly be 250,000 SWU, but our goal is to reach one million,” said Kamalvandi.
Pointing that the sanctions are to prevent the progress of the country, he said that the construction of Bushehr second power plant has a 25 percent progress and will be built by 2025, while the third power plant will undergo construction in 2 years.
A spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) said that due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the order of Iran's president, unveiling of 122 nuclear achievements has been postponed.
“These achievements relate to the fields of medicine, industry and energy, including a number of new radiopharmaceuticals used in the field of cancer, nuclear propellants used in submarines and ships, and high- and medium-power lasers used for industrial purposes,” said Kamalvandi.
