Head of Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province Ali Reza Rashidian is on a three-day visit to Azerbaijani capital of Baku.
Speaking on his visit, Rashidian said he is visiting Baku to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations as well as the agreements reached during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Iran.
"A decision was made to realize the mutual cooperation between the regions of Iran and Azerbaijan. The visit's purpose is to achieve cooperation between the Razavi Khorasan Province and one of the regions of Azerbaijan," Rashidian said.
He expressed hope that the province's capital of Mashhad and Baku will sign a cooperation agreement.
"The people of Baku and Mashhad have long-standing relations. Some of them have even started successful business activities in this city," Rashidian noted.
He went on to add that the future mutual cooperation will cover trade, culture and education.
