Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 12
By Umid Niayesh - Trend:
Iran has dismissed the news reports on Iranian nuclear engineer being killed in Syria recently, IRNA reported on Nov.12.
Iran's deputy foreign minister in charge of consular affairs Hassan Ghashghavi said no Iranian nuclear engineer was in Syria, thus the reported news are false.
Earlier, Reuters quoted The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Nov.10 as saying that the unknown gunmen killed five nuclear engineers, four of them Syrian and one Iranian, on the outskirts of Damascus on Nov.9.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the engineers were shot dead while traveling in a small convoy to a Miniature Neutron Source Reactor (MSNR) near the northeastern district of Barzeh.
