Iran said on Wednesday that Turkish government is responsible for security of Iranian tourists, drivers and passengers. Iranian protest has been conveyed to the Turkish government by Turkish ambassador to Iran, IRNA reported August 12.

Managing-Director of Transit and Terminals Affairs of Roads and Transport Organization Mohammad-Javad Atrchian made the remarks in an interview with IRNA.

He said that the protest has been delivered to Turkish ambassador to Tehran about lack of security in Turkey for the Iranian drivers and passengers.

He said that just like providing security for its own citizens, the Turkish government is responsible for ensuring safety of the Iranian passengers and drivers in Turkey.

'According to the latest news released today (on Wednesday) Turkey has opened its borders for passage of trucks and a number of that country's trucks have entered Iran, but the Iranian truck drivers are still not willing to enter Turkey,' he added.

Rezaie said that on Tuesday once again a number of Iranian trucks passing through the Turkish soil were attacked and one of them was set ablaze by armed terrorists, so that the Turkish government shut down the Bazargan International Border.

He said that the Turkish government must remunerate the entire damages of the Iranian drivers and passengers, adding that the Iranian Foreign Ministry has informed the concerned Turkish officials about Iran's protest and claims and is still waiting for proper response from Ankara.

During the course of the past fortnight, unfortunately a number of Iranian citizens have got killed in the course of armed attacks of terrorists in Turkey.

That is while, Davoud Keshavarzian, the head of the Iranian Roads Maintenance Organization announced on Wednesday that the Iranian officials expect Turkey to act rapidly to resolve the emerged problem, identify the criminals involved in the horrendous crimes and punish them respectively.
