Iran seeks to expand its military cooperation with China.

Mohammad Bagheri, chief of Iran's Armed Forces General Staff Intelligence and Operations, said: "As we expanded economic cooperation with China, we are seeking to expand our military cooperation, as well," Iran's Tasnim news agency reported Oct. 14.

He made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with a delegation of Chinese military officials, led by the country's Joint Chiefs of armed Forces.

"Iran and China hold common stances regarding the unilateral approach of the US. The two countries are planning to expand military ties the same as their economic ties."

"During the eight-year war between Iran and Iraq, China helped us. Fight against terrorism and extremism, and establishment of stability in Iraq and Syria was our common policy," he said.
