Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will leave Tehran for Turkey's Istanbul on April 13 evening to attend the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting, the official website of the president reported.

Rouhani will participate in the 13th summit of the OIC, where he will deliver a speech on April 14, Iranian president's deputy chief of staff for communications and information, Parviz Esmaeili, said.

Esmaeili further said that Rouhani is scheduled to hold talks with leaders of Muslim countries on the sidelines of the two-day event.

The OIC meeting will bring about the leaders of 57 countries. This year's event will address a number of issues, including recent armed confrontations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif took part in the meeting of the OIC foreign ministers on April 12.

The Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also already attended the organization's expert level meeting April 10-11, where the agenda of the event was adopted.

The first OIC meeting was held in 1970 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
