Iran’s deputy FM in Syria, to visit Lebanon next

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Arab Affairs Hossein Jaber Ansari has traveled to Damascus, capital of Syria, to sit for talks with Syrian officials.
During the visit, Ansari will meet with President Bashar al-Assad, Prime Minister Imad Khamis, Foreign Minister Walid Muallem, and Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, Mehr news agency reported December 21.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister is slated to visit Lebanon as well.
Ansari a day earlier had accompanied Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Moscow where they discussed the situations in Syria with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish counterpart Mevlut Çavuşoğlu.
