Sources in Iran report that the country’s head of Expediency Council Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has died.
The 82-year-old former president was hospitalized in the afternoon of January 8 as he suffered a heart stroke.
Tweets quoted Hossein Marashi, a close relative of the ayatollah as having confirmed the news of Rafsanjani’s death.
