Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani has expressed concerns over the regional countries’ purchase of arms.
“Some countries through oil revenues are turning the region into Western arms’ depot,” IRNA news agency quoted him as saying in Moscow.
The official, who has arrived in Russia, is scheduled to attend Moscow Security Conference to brief the participants on Iran’s strategies on confronting terrorism.
The US and Saudi Arabia sealed a $110 billion deal on Saturday in which Riyadh will purchase US arms to help it counter Iran, with options running as high as $350 billion over 10 years, Reuters reported.
