Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 2
By Fatih Karimov – Trend:
Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has called for closer ties with the neighboring countries.
“We are not in competition with neighboring countries, but in cooperation,” Rouhani said, addressing a group of people in Zabol city, south eastern Sistan and Balouchestan province on Dec. 2, the state-run IRINN TV reported.
He further said that the Islamic Republic does not want any gap with Arab world, adding that if certain countries in the region have stayed far from Iran, it is their fault, not Iran’s will.
Rouhani arrived at Zabol today morning, to inaugurate a number of projects through video conference and to meet university students.
Visiting Zahedan, Zabol and Chabahar cities is also among Rouhani’s two-day itinerary in southeastern Iran.
