Zarif criticizes US blind sanctions against Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message slammed US for its blind sanctions on the Iranian people and bodies, IRNA reported.

“In a desperate PSYOP [psychological operations] to amplify the list of sanctioned Iranian entities—unintentionally also proving it is #TargetingOrdinaryIranians indiscriminately—the U.S. designated a bank that was closed 6 years ago, and a ship that sank last year in a widely televised saga,” Zarif tweeted on Monday.

After Washington's May 8 exit from the historic Iran Deal, the US gave 90- and 180-day wind-down periods to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4.

Part of the US' illegitimate sanctions were imposed on Iran on August 9.

The US President Donald Trump has said he will reinstate the US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Iranian ship Sanchi which was randomly sanctioned by US administration was carrying over 130,000 tons of gas condensates, en route to South Korea when it collided with a Chinese freighter in East China Coast on January 6.

The tanker finally sank after more than a week of burning with all its 30 Iranian and two Bangladeshi crew members being killed.
