Iranian intelligence foils bomb plot in holy Qom city

Iran's Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said that the security forces have foiled bomb plot in holy city of Qom during the mourning month of Moharram, the official IRNA news agency reported Nov. 12.
Alavi said that the persons who where planning the attack were arrested before realizing their plot.
The Mourning of Muharram is a set of rituals associated with Shia Islam, which takes place in Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar.
Alavi further went on to note that the intelligence forces foiled various suicide bomb plots with explosive belts in different provincial centers on the Quds Day (Iran's anti-Israel celebrations), on the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan, which fell on July 25 this year.
He also added that the Iran's intelligence ministry monitors al moves of the Islamic Republic's "enemies."
