Iran uses suicide robots in war games
Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 20
By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran used suicide robots for the first time in Muharram war games, which was held October 19-20 in west and northwest of the country.
Iranian Army Ground Force Commander Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said the suicide robots were used in ground defense operations, ISNA news agency reported Oct. 20.
Kinds of snipers, and anti-armor missiles with high explosion power were tested.
Bell 205, 206, 214, and Kobra helicopters were among the aircraft used in these exercises.
"Those weapons were just part of new weapons which were used in the war game. Due to security considerations, other weapons which were used cannot be named," Pourdastan said.
Under international restrictions, Iran has used domestic talents to improve its military power, frequently unveiling new products.
Pourdastan said in May that Iran is fully prepared to defend itself in proxy wars.
Presence of the terrorist groups in the region has formed a new face of threats against Iran, however Tehran is completely ready for proxy war, he said.
