The Iranian capital Tehran is going to host the 1st World Conference of Mayors and Councilors from July 20 to 21, Managing director of Tehran Waste Management Organization (TWMO) Hossein Jafari said.
He explained that about 1,800 members of city councils in Iran and mayors from different world countries will attend the event, IRNA news agency reported July 3.
Some participating countries include Germany, France, Australia, South Korea, Belgium and the Czech Republic, according to the official.
Also, Jafari added, over 100 think tanks and international investors from UK, US, Italy, and Switzerland are to take part in Tehran conference.
He said that waste management will be one of the main topics on agenda during the event.
