Iranian police have arrested a number of fanatics who recently held a gathering in Fars Province, shouting anti-state slogans, Shiraz Attorney Ali Salehi said, ISNA news agency reported October 31.

Iranian police have arrested a number of fanatics who recently held a gathering in Fars Province, shouting anti-state slogans, Shiraz Attorney Ali Salehi said, ISNA news agency reported October 31.

The gathering was staged on the birth anniversary of ancient Iranian emperor Cyrus at his tomb near the city of Shiraz.

Tens of thousands of Cyrus lovers gathered at the place when some started shouting slogans against the Islamic Republic, Tehran’s foreign policy, Arabs, the clergy, and the national faith. They also chanted phrases in admiration of the previous Pahlavi regime.

According to Ali Salehi, they have been arrested, and the activities of these people are under investigation. He went on to add that proper judicial measure will be applied to the abovementioned people.
